STOCKTON, Calif. - Favored Kaweah Princess ($5.60) got a perfect stalking trip and held on gamely, outlasting Congo Kaye by a neck to win the $59,000 Sweepida Invitational Stakes at the San Joaquin County Fair on Saturday. Kaweah Princess, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, scored her third straight victory since running second in her career debut as she won her stakes debut in the six-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies. She sat comfortably in fourth down the backstretch as See N Win and Basket Copy battled head-and-head, moving up on the dueling leaders on the turn before taking over in the stretch under William Antongeorgi. Congo Kaye, bumped around at the start, rallied gamely from the rail but couldn't get by the winner. She finished 1 1/2 lengths in front of Summers Peace. Kaweah Princess, a daughter of Soto owned by the Very Un Stable, earned $31,000, increasing her lifetime earnings to $72,200.
