Kathleen Torok of Keeneland killed

Marty McGee|Oct 12, 2006

Kathleen R. Torok, who was employed at Keeneland as the administrative assistant to the track's director of racing, Rogers Beasley, was killed on her way to work Thursday morning when her automobile was broadsided by a truck on a local highway in Lexington, Ky.

Torok handled accommodations and hospitality for horsemen who raced at Keeneland and came in contact with hundreds of people in the racing industry.

"Her positive attitude was contagious," said Keeneland's president, Nick Nicholson. "We are sad beyond words."

Torok, a Lexington native who would have turned 46 Tuesday, is survived by her husband, Dale, and her parents. Funeral arrangements were pending late Thursday.
