Kangaroo Court to miss Golden State Juvenile

ARCADIA, Calif. – Kangaroo Court, the easy winner of a maiden special weight race for California-breds at Del Mar in August, will miss the $175,000 Golden State Juvenile at Santa Anita on Oct. 29.
Trained by Tim Yakteen, Kangaroo Court was scratched from the $125,000 I’m Smokin Stakes for statebred 2-year-olds at Del Mar on Sept. 9 because of a minor injury.
“We’ll let him tell us when he’s ready to come back,” Yakteen said on Sunday. “He’s a nice horse and we want to be conservative. You want them to be right.”
Owned by George Sharp, Kangaroo Court won his second start in a maiden race at 5 1/2 furlongs by 14 1/4 lengths on Aug. 20.
The Golden State Juvenile is one of seven stakes on the Oct. 29 program at Santa Anita, a program led by two Grade 2 turf races worth $200,000 – the Goldikova Stakes for fillies and mares at a mile and the Twilight Derby at 1 1/8 miles.
Santa Anita begins the second half of its six-week autumn meeting on Friday with a three-day racing week. Of the nine remaining racing days beginning on Friday, the Oct. 29 program is the only program with stakes races.

Panic Alarm being imported
Panic Alarm, the winner of a lucrative sales progeny race in Ireland on Sunday, is bound for California, trainer John Sadler said.
Panic Alarm is owned by Sadler’s principal client, Hronis Racing, and will be pointed for the Del Mar autumn meeting, with a start in the Grade 3 Cecil B. DeMille Stakes at a mile on turf on Dec. 4 a possibility.
By the Exceed and Excel stallion Kuroshio, Panic Alarm won for the second time in his four-race career in Sunday’s $109,700 Irish EBF Auction Series Race Final at seven furlongs at Naas Racecourse for trainer Jessica Harrington.
“It looks like he’s good enough to come here,” Sadler said.
