K P Wildcat extends win streak in El Diario Handicap

K P Wildcat won her fifth consecutive race on Saturday when she darted to a length win over Kell Paso in the $75,000 El Diario Handicap at Sunland Park. The race was one of two sprint stakes on the card. Concord Fast accounted for the $75,000 Budweiser Handicap.
K P Wildcat ($3.80) has now won four stakes during her streak. She tracked the pace in the El Diario as Propoer Discretion dueled through an opening quarter in 22.77 seconds and Kell Paso took over through a half-mile in 45.70. K P Wildcat took the lead in the stretch and went on to cover 6 1/2 furlongs on a fast track in 1:16.40.
Roimes Chirinos was aboard for trainer Weston Martin.
Other stakes wins during K P Wildcat’s streak have been the Harry Henson last March at Sunland, the Chaves County in October at Zia Park, and the Zia Distaff in November. She improved her Sunland record to 5 for 7 with her win in the El Diario.
Karl Pergola owns K P Wildcat, a winner of 10 races from 15 starts and a daughter of Include.
Concord Fast ($4.60) stalked fractions of 21.81 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.59 for the half-mile and went on to a length win over stablemate Mt Veeder in the Budweiser. Both horses are trained by Justin Evans. Concord Fast covered six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.51.
Concord Fast is a son of Concord Point who races for Teed Off Stable. The horse has now won five of 18 starts and earned $304,755.
