K P Wildcat back with the girls in Chaves County Stakes

K P Wildcat will return to racing with fillies and mares in the $50,000 Chaves County at Zia Park on Monday when she seeks to keep a win streak alive. K P Wildcat has won her last three races – all stakes – with her most recent over males in the Billy the Kid Handicap at Ruidoso Downs.
The Chaves County is a one-mile race. A field of 11 has signed on, including multiple stakes winners Kell Paso, Galactic Princess, and Behold That Word.
The Chaves County is the first Thoroughbred stakes of the Zia meet and one of a handful of stakes to be run there on Mondays.

K P Wildcat, by Include
Last 3 Beyers: 77-79-81
◗ She has been in the zone for some time, having won eight of her last nine races. Her only loss during that period came in March in the $100,000 Harry Henson won by Southern California invader Faypien.
◗ K P Wildcat started a new win streak one start after the Henson in the $30,000 First Lady on June 3 at Ruidoso. From there, she stretched out to a mile and captured the $55,000 Distaff at the Downs at Albuquerque on Aug. 4. She then took on males in the $30,000 Billy the Kid Handicap on Sept. 3, and proved 2 1/4 lengths best over Grade 3 winner Suddenbreakingnews.
◗ K P Wildcat stalked the pace in the Billy the Kid – run over 1 1/16 miles – and could get a similar trip Monday behind Kell Paso and Baydar.
◗ Roimes Chirinos has the mount for owner Karl Pergola and trainer Wes Martin.
◗ K P Wildcat could go over $500,000 in earnings Monday. She enters the Chaves County with a record of 13 wins from 19 starts and career earnings of $490,636.
Kell Paso, by Divine Park
Last 3 Beyers: 70-90-75
◗ She is a threat to wire the field from her rail post. She is stretching out from a 5 1/2-furlong allowance win in which she set the pace and prevailed by 2 1/2 lengths on Sept. 20 at Albuquerque.
◗ Kell Paso is looking for her first two-turn win following some close calls at the configuration. She was second by a neck in the $200,000 Sunland Park Oaks at 1 1/16 miles in 2017 and was second in the Harry Henson at a mile at Sunland in March.
◗ Ry Eikleberry has the mount for owner William Goode and trainer Greg Green.
