Juvenile stakes winners head to Delta Downs next

Kylie’s Cutie and Mr. L. S. Shoe, who swept the two $100,000 divisions of the Louisiana Stallion Stakes last weekend at Louisiana Downs, are being pointed for stakes at Delta Downs on Nov. 22, said their trainer, Jim Hodges.
Hodges said Kylie’s Cutie is likely to make her next start in the $150,000 Louisiana Jewel, while Mr. L. S. Shoe is a candidate for the $150,000 Louisiana Legacy. Both races are to be run at a mile and are restricted to 2-year-olds bred in Louisiana.
Mr. L. S. Shoe remained undefeated in two starts with his win in the Louisiana Stallion Stakes, a race in which he covered seven furlongs in 1:24 and earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 81. Following the Delta start, the horse would be a candidate for the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile at his winter base of Fair Grounds, said Hodges. The race is Dec. 14.
Kylie’s Cutie romped by 6 3/4 lengths in her division of the Louisiana Stallion Stakes, covering seven furlongs in 1:24.85 for a Beyer of 70.
“I thought she ran a very respectable race,” said Hodges.
Kylie’s Cutie, like Mr. L. S. Shoe, is a long-term candidate for Champions Day at Fair Grounds, her division being the $100,000 Lassie.
Both horses race for Phyllis Hodges.
The Legacy and Jewel will be run on the Delta Downs Jackpot undercard. Nominations for the Grade 3, $1 million Jackpot for 2-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles are now being accepted, according to a release from Delta.
