SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Just F Y I, the 2-year-old filly champion of 2023, has been turned out for the summer and will likely be aimed at a 4-year-old campaign, trainer Bill Mott said Friday. Just F Y I is currently at the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland, where she will likely remain out of training through the end of August. Mott said since Just F Y I “can’t be ready for the Breeders’ Cup” he would like to just focus on a 4-year-old campaign, though he didn’t rule out having her ready for something in late fall. Just F Y I went 3 for 3 at age 2, capped by a victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. After missing the Davona Dale at Gulfstream Park in March due to illness, Just F Y I made her 3-year-old debut in the Grade 1 Ashland and was second to Leslie’s Rose. After finishing second to Thorpedo Anna in the Kentucky Oaks, Just F Y I finished sixth, 22 lengths behind Thorpedo Anna, in the Grade 1 Acorn on June 7. “She was jammed up a little bit, she just needed to be turned out,” Mott said. :: Gain a competitive edge at Saratoga with DRF's premier handicapping data — purchase our meet packages today and bet with confidence.
