Just a Care headlines Ladies' Turf Sprint

Saturday’s headliner is the $140,000 Ladies’ Turf Sprint featuring Victoriam Farm’s Just a Care, the come-from-behind winner of the Abundantia Stakes in her 2024 finale.

Just a Care is trained by Brian Lynch, who also won the Abundantia, Ladies' Turf, and Captiva Island during the 2023-24 championship meet with Victoriam’s Stone Silent.

The five-furlong Ladies’ Turf lured a field of nine older fillies and mares that includes Abundantia runner-up Karaya, the multiple turf stakes winner Beauty of the Sea, and stakes winner Freedom Speaks, who makes her first start since being transferred to the barn of trainer Heather Smullen.

The Ladies’ Turf will go off as the 10th race at 4:49 p.m. local time.
