Jumped the Harbor scores in Eisenhower
ALTOONA, Ia. - Jumped the Harbor put her best foot forward from the outset and took Friday's $81,550 Mamie Eisenhower Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths.
After spoiling her chance with a tardy start when tenth in an April 18 allowance race, the Larry Dunbar trainee broke well, stalked Sunset Illusion's solid fractions and seized command at the three-sixteenths pole to defeat ten accomplished Iowa-bred fillies and mares.
Fellow 4-year-old Sumting Wong chased Jumped the Harbor home to run a willing second and 2-1 favorite Queen Lilly Kay made a prolonged five wide bid to gain third in a field that has won over a combined $1.5 million over this track.
Jumped the Harbor ($31.20), bred and owned by Robert Forrest Barnett, parlayed her success in last year's Bob Bryant with a score that garnered $48,930 for her connections. Jockey Shane Laviolette, who has now won two of the three stakes races run here this meet, guided the Jump Start filly through six furlongs in 1:11.55 and is off to a productive 16-for-82 start here.
