Julie B makes 2007 debut

Joe DeVivo|May 31, 2007

Julie B, 4 for 4 in stakes at Charles Town last season, will try to pick up where she left off when she makes her 4-year-old debut in the $50,000 Turn Capp at seven furlongs.

Eight of Julie B's 11 career starts have come at Charles Town, and all that prevents her from having a perfect record locally is a head loss in her first start of 2006. She won three consecutive stakes last fall, including the $315,000 Cavada on the West Virginia Breeders Classics program.

If Julie B isn't ready to fire fresh off a six-month layoff, The Holy One could be the one to catch. Based at Fair Hill with trainer Steve Klesaris, The Holy One is 2 for 2 at Charles Town, including an 8 1/2-length romp in her most recent start, which came April 26 at the same distance as the Turn Capp.
