Coady Photography A J's Grand, ridden by David Cardoso, wins her third straight race and first route in the Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Breeders Oaks.

A J’s Grand, the lukewarm favorite at 7-2, successfully stretched out from six furlongs to a mile and 70 yards to win Saturday’s $40,000 Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders Association Breeders Oaks at Arapahoe Park.

Ridden for the first time by David Cardoso, A J’s Grand ($9.40) blew past pacesetter Ritzy Rags approaching the final turn and drew off to win by about two lengths over longshot Charlies Happy Cat, who remains a maiden after 11 starts. R Silver Charm finished third in a full field of 12 Colorado-bred 3-year-old fillies..

In winning her third straight race for trainer Tyrone Gleason and owner Robert Schreiber, A J’s Grand completed the distance in 1:46.28. She is a daughter of Grand Minstrel.
