Johnson sweeps pair of Indiana-bred stakes with Hungarian Princess, Nobody Listens

Trainer Marvin Johnson sent out the winners of both Wednesday stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis, with Hungarian Princess pulling away in the $100,000 Checkered Flag and Nobody Listens wiring his rivals in the $100,000 Brickyard.
Both stakes were run over six furlongs and were restricted to 3-year-olds and up bred in Indiana.
In the Checkered Flag for fillies and mares, Hungarian Princess ($6) won her second straight stakes behind the $102,000 Shelby County for Indiana-breds on June 8 at Horseshoe Indianapolis. She raced with the pace throughout Wednesday, pushing Everyotherone through an opening quarter in 22.91 seconds, then joining that one on the lead before going on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:11.
Samuel Bermudez was aboard Hungarian Princess, who won by 4 1/2 lengths over Chandana. It was another half-length back in third to Wellington Wonder.
Both Hungarian Princess and Wellington Wonder, who also is trained by Johnson, race for their breeder, Swifty Farms.
Hungarian Princess has now won five stakes and is 9 for 16 overall. The daughter of Pataky Kid has earned $443,329.
In the Brickyard, Nobody Listens ($6) broke like a shot and proceeded to set fractions of 21.95 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.39 for the half-mile. He went on to cover the distance in 1:10.03, one start after winning a turf-sprint allowance at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Joe Ramos was aboard Nobody Listens, who won by six lengths over Flowerpecker. It was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third to Meetmeinkingston.
Nobody Listens is a son of Conveyance who has now won 7 of 14 starts for earnings of $280,990.
