Johannesburg to run on dirt at Lingfield

Champion 2-year-old colt and Kentucky Derby candidate Johannes-

burg, who had been targeting the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh in Ireland in April as his only prep for the Classics, will instead make his 3-year-old debut in a restricted one-mile race on the dirt at Lingfield Park in England on April 6, according to a Daily Telegraph report.

Johannesburg was a perfect 7 for 7 last year as a 2-year-old, capping his year with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile that raised his first-season earnings to just over $1 million.
