Joey Migliore forming his own bloodstock operation
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Joey Migliore has left his job as a sales associate for West Point Thoroughbreds to open up his own bloodstock operation.
Migliore is heading to Florida this week to start preparing for the upcoming sales in March at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company and Gulfstream Park.

“I have really great support from a handful of owners as I branch out to do this,” Migliore said. “Hopefully I’ll be buying for three, four, or five different owners at the sales coming up and through the course of the year.”
Migliore, the son of former jockey and current racing analyst Richard Migliore, said he recommended the purchase of Fiya to owner Robert Masiello. Fiya has gone 3 for 3 with two stakes wins since he was purchased from the Wanamaker’s online auction last year and turned over to trainer Tom Albertrani.
Migliore said he was appreciative of his time with West Point, which began in 2015.
“It was a great opportunity that they gave me to experience things on the partnership side,” he said. “I feel like I learned a lot. My passion has always been at the sales on the bloodstock side of the industry and I felt like it was time to make the move.”
