Steve Andersen|Mar 18, 2011

ARCADIA, Calif. - Regally Ready won his second consecutive turf sprint, and first career stakes, in Friday’s $79,150 Joe Hernandez Stakes at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Regally Ready ($3) led throughout the race over about 6 1/2 furlongs on the hillside turf course, and won by 1 3/4 lengths over 12-1 Leroy’s Dynameaux. Gallant Son, second early, finished third in the field of seven.

Regally Ready was timed in 1:12.98. Owned by Vinery Stable, Regally Ready won an allowance race on the hillside turf course on Feb. 4, preceded by a third in the Grade 3 Daytona Stakes on the same course on Jan. 1.

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Regally Ready, a 4-year-old gelding, has won 5 of 11 starts and $237,978.
