SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – Jockeys Oriana Rossi and Alejandro L. Contreras were transported to Major Hospital in Shelbyville following a spill in the fifth race at Indiana Grand on Wednesday. Contreras's mount, Divine Thunder, was up close between rivals when he clipped heels with the leader and went to the ground. Rossi, trailing the field, could not avoid the fallen horse, and her mount, Top Priority, then went over Divine Thunder.  At last report, Rossi had recovered feeling in her extremities, and Contreras, fifth in the jockey standings, was complaining of lower-back and leg pain. Both horses got up and galloped around the course before being caught by outriders past the wire. Francisco Torres was taken to the hospital with leg pain after returning to the jockeys’ quarters.  His mount, My Prize Now, was broadsided by Divine Thunder just after the fall and was taken up but finished the race, beaten just over 12 lengths.  Quality Council ($4.60), trained by Brad Cox, was in the back of the pack and outside, avoiding all trouble, and won the starter-allowance race with Jon Court in the irons.
