Jockey Floyd Wethey Jr. swept Remington Park’s two stakes for older runners on the Springboard Mile card Saturday night, when he guided Miss Code West to clear win in the $75,000 She’s All In and Ze’bul to a charging victory in the $75,000 Jeffrey Hawk Memorial. The races were among six stakes on the closing-night card and were worth a cumulative $625,000. The showcase event was the $300,000 Springboard Mile, a Kentucky Derby points race for 2-year-olds upset by Express Kid ($71). Miss Code West ($4.80), who has won the last two Horse of the Meet titles at Remington, made a case for a third in the She’s All In. She tracked the pace set by Thunders Rocknroll, took over through six furlongs in 1:12.53, and fought on as Thunders Rocknroll came back along the rail. Miss Code West ultimately won by 1 1/2 lengths over Thunders Rocknroll, while it was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third to Take Me Serious. Trainer Kevin Scholl agreed on the added ground in the same interview, and also said Miss Code West would now get some time off and prepare for next season at Remington. The She’s All In was the third stakes win at the meet for Miss Code West. She was facing open company in the race after winning the Bob Barry Memorial and the Oklahoma Distaff Turf, both for Oklahoma-breds, earlier this season at Remington. Miss Code West is a daughter of Code West who races for Jeffry Puryear and Julie Puryear. Ze’bul ($8.80) closed for a three-quarter-length win over Presidential in the Jeffrey Hawk. It was another two lengths back in third to C W Prize. Heroic Move was scratched from the Hawk. Ze’bul covered the one mile and 70 yards in 1:43.21. The son of Collected is owned by Centurian Racing Partners and is trained by Dick Cappellucci. Toby Keith Memorial Not a Lady was always prominent for a 2 1/4-length win over Alisal in the $75,000 Toby Keith Memorial for 2-year-old fillies. It was another 5 3/4 lengths back in third to Samantha Code. Not a Lady ($4) covered a mile in 1:42.07. It was the first stakes win for the daughter of Into Mischief, who came into the Toby Keith off a runner-up finish in the My Trusty Cat Stakes at Delta Downs. Erik Asmussen was aboard Not a Lady in the Toby Keith for Winchell Thoroughbreds and his father, trainer Steve Asmussen. Earlier on the card, Steve Asmussen was honored in a winner’s circle ceremony for taking down his 20th Remington Park training title. Jim Thorpe Mister Omaha ($2.10) won his second stakes race at the meet in the $50,000 Jim Thorpe when he held off the fast-closing bid of Classy Empire by a neck. Mister Omaha had won the Oklahoma Classics Night Cup in October. In the Thorpe, he set fractions of 23.65 seconds for the opening quarter, 47.25 for the half-mile and 1:11.72 for six furlongs. He covered the mile for 3-year-olds bred in Oklahoma in 1:37.89. Luis Quinonez was aboard the son of Omaha Beach for Bryan Hawk, the leading owner this meet at Remington, and trainer Joe Offolter. *** Imamidnightspecial ($14.40) led throughout for a 4 1/2-length win over Eireann in the $50,000 Useeit for 3-year-old fillies bred in Oklahoma.
