Jockey Loveberry wins 1,000th race

Jockey Jareth Loveberry achieved his milestone 1,000th win in North America on Saturday night, when he guided Lawless West to a neck victory in the second race at Remington Park.

Loveberry was aboard Lawless West ($5), who won a maiden special weight sprint, for the partnership of Bryan and Tim Hawk. The horse is trained by Boyd Caster.

Loveberry rode the first winner of his career Aug. 29, 2005, at Great Lakes Downs. Overall, he has had more than 8,000 mounts, and they have earned a collective $13.6 million.

Loveberry is in the midst of a strong season at Remington, where he ranks third in the standings. Among his stakes winners at the current meet is Bring It On Dude, a promising 2-year-old who has accounted for the Kip Deville and Oklahoma Classics Juvenile.
