Jockey Diego Herrera has been suspended seven racing days, from Friday through May 26, for two incidents in which his mounts were disqualified in races at Santa Anita in late April and early May, according to rules recently published by Santa Anita stewards.  Herrera was cited when Adebayo failed to maintain a straight course in the stretch of the second race on April 27. Adebayo was disqualified from first to second in a $20,000 claiming race for maiden sprinters. Herrera was given a three-day suspension for the disqualification that will last from Friday through Sunday this weekend.  In the seventh race on May 4, Herrera rode Whats the Buzz, who was disqualified from second to 11th for crossing to the inside without clearance on the backstretch of a $12,500 claiming race for maiden sprinters. For that, Herrera was given a four-day suspension from May 23-26.  Herrera, 21, has won six races from 121 mounts this year. In his career, which began in 2021, Herrera has won 291 races on all breeds, including 209 on Thoroughbreds. :: Playing Santa Anita? Get the most trusted data and information in horse racing!
