OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Jockey Manny Franco won six races on Thursday’s card at Aqueduct, one shy of the record set by Flavien Prat last November. On a day when favorites won eight of the nine races, Franco rode five of those favorites and the one second choice who won on the card. Franco won the first race on Sea Vista ($3.96) and race 3 on second choice Kadena ($7.86). Franco won four of the final five races on the card: race 5 on Mathea ($4.52), race 7 on Top Player ($3.84), race 8 on Otherpeoplesmoney ($5.90), and the finale on Hot Gossip ($4.68), who needed every inch of the Aqueduct stretch to get up. “Unbelievable day. I had good mounts today. I just want to say thank you to all the trainers who everyday trust in me,” Franco said. “I just try to do my best.” :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! Franco’s six-win day came on the heels of a three-win Wednesday, as racing on this circuit seems to be back on a regular schedule after eight cards were canceled due to extreme cold. Franco is now atop the jockey standings at Aqueduct’s winter meet with 25, four more than Jose Lezcano.  “I’m looking forward to keep doing well, keep getting good mounts, and try to deliver out there when I have the chance,” Franco said. Franco previously won six races on a single card at Aqueduct on Jan. 6, 2023, when he went 6 for 7. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
