Jockey Club frees 47,000 names

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Owners wishing to submit name requests to the The Jockey Club for their foals of 2001 must do so by Feb. 1 to avoid being charged a $50 late fee, The Jockey Club said in a reminder issued Friday.

The Jockey Club also has published 47,120 names that have been released from active use and are now available. Those newly available names, as well as The Jockey Club's list of names already in use, are published on the organization's website at http://home.jockeyclub.com.

Owners can submit their Thoroughbred name choices electronically or in the mail to The Jockey Club, 821 Corporate Drive, Lexington KY 40503-2794.
