Jet Run now 2 for 2

Jet Run ($8.20) ran down dueling pacesetters Scary Trip and Run Jickster Run, then held off a late bid by Haddenfield to remain undefeated in the $64,816 Par Four Stakes for 2-year-olds at Delaware Park.

Ridden by Nick Petro for his brother, trainer Mike Petro, Jet Run sat 1 1/2 lengths off the front-runners through a half-mile in 45:97 seconds, moved three wide to challenge for the lead entering the turn, stuck his head in front at the eighth pole, and edged clear late to win by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:12.15 for six furlongs.

Haddenfield, the slight favorite at 2-1, finished second, 1 1/4 lengths in front of Scary Trip.

A son of Waquoit owned by Timothy Cunningham, Jet Run also came from off the pace to win his career debut over a sloppy track on July 29.
