Trainer Jose D’Angelo said Friday that Jesus’ Team has been sharp in his recent training at Palm Meadows and that “all is perfect” in the Pegasus aftermath. D’Angelo had considered sending the 4-year-old colt overseas for the Saudi Cup next Saturday before deciding to wait for the $12 million Dubai World Cup on March 27.
D’Angelo said Jesus’ Team will breeze every Saturday through March 13 before being flown to Dubai.
Jesus’ Team, owned by the Grupo 7C Racing Stable, has been a steady player in major races in recent months, finishing third in the Jim Dandy and Preakness, then second in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile. He was 11-1 when he rallied under Irad Ortiz Jr. to get second, 2 3/4 lengths behind Knicks Go, in the Pegasus.
