Jes An Angel, Doing Something Good fastest qualifiers for All American Futurity

Jes An Angel and Doing Something Good emerged as the top qualifiers for the $3 million All American Futurity after two days of trials run over wet tracks Friday and Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.
The horses with the five fastest times from each card earned a spot in the starting gate for the All American, which will be held Sept. 5. The winner of the 440-yard classic for 2-year-old Quarter Horses will earn $1.5 million.
Jes An Angel ($7) led all qualifiers on the first day of trials when she covered 440 yards in the slop in 21.25 seconds. She won by a neck over Sicario V, who was the day’s second-fastest qualifier with a time of 21.30. The horses came out of the 11th race on the card of 16 trials. Jes an Angel is now 5 for 7.
The other qualifiers from Friday, with times, were Hes Judgeandjury (21.33), Paige (21.37), and Kj Leader of the Pack (21.40).

Doing Something Good ($2.80) led all qualifiers on Saturday when he covered 440 yards on sloppy track in 21.42 seconds. He romped by 3 3/4 lengths in the first of 16 trials on the day to improve his career mark to 3 for 7.
Chasing Aj, in the final trial of the afternoon, was the day’s second fastest qualifier. He covered 440 yards in 21.64 seconds while winning by a length and a half in the mud. The remaining qualifiers from Saturday with times were Curls Joyful Wagon (21.75), Jp General (21.80), and Orbyson (21.81).
There were more than 300 horses entered in the trials for the All American Futurity.
