Jennifer Lynnette drops from series of stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The multiple-stakes-placed Jennifer Lynnette is a good fit in Friday’s Woodbine headliner, a contentious first-level optional claimer for 3-year-old fillies.
Jennifer Lynnette was quite precocious at 2. After graduating at first asking going six furlongs in October, she rallied for third after a bad start in the seven-furlong Glorious Song Stakes.
Following a winter layoff, Jennifer Lynnette inherited the lead in the six-furlong Star Shoot Stakes on April 16 and proceeded to set slow fractions before getting caught on the wire by Treasuring. She suffered another heartbreaking loss in the seven-furlong Fury Stakes on May 22, when she established another moderate pace before losing by a half-length to a charging Tiz Imaginary. Most recently, she finished a nonthreatening fifth after a troubled break while experimenting on the grass in the open Alywow Stakes on June 12.
Trainer Mark Casse sent Jennifer Lynnette out to breeze five-eighths in a bullet 59 seconds on the Tapeta on June 29.
The feature is the seventh on a nine-race program. Only Ginger Candy runs for the $72,500 claiming tag in the seven-furlong sprint, which carries a base purse of $58,600.
