Jan's Reserve among entrants for inaugural Lost in the Fog

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Jan’s Reserve, the dominant winner of the King’s Swan Stakes over Aqueduct’s main track Nov. 27, topped a field of seven entered for Friday’s inaugural running of the $125,000 Lost in the Fog Stakes for 3-year-old sprinters over the inner track.
The Lost in the Fog is the first of four sprints for 3-year-olds offered at Aqueduct during the winter-spring season, culminating April 9 with the Grade 3, $300,000 Bay Shore.
At 21-1, Jan’s Reserve was the longest shot in the five-horse King’s Swan, perhaps because he had made his three previous starts on turf. In the King’s Swan, Jan’s Reserve, trained by Michael Dilger, benefited from a hotly contested pace between favorites Spooked Out and Mo for the Money and rallied from 10 lengths back to win going away.
Joel Rosario rode Jan’s Reserve in the King’s Swan, while Jose Ortiz is named to ride him in the Lost in the Fog.
Condo King and King Kranz, separated by a neck in a highly rated maiden race Dec. 5, also are entered to run in this spot, as are Zen Papa, Atizapan, Sallisaw, and Purcell.
