OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The stewards suspended apprentice jockey Jaime Torres 14 days for his ride aboard Central Speed in last Saturday’s second race at Aqueduct. Torres allowed Central Speed to come in several paths, bumping Autumn, who unseated Jose Lezcano. Lezcano suffered a broken hand and is out indefinitely. As part of a chain reaction, Manny Franco was also unseated, but he was uninjured. The 14 days are New York Racing Association racing days. Angel Cordero Jr., the agent for Torres, said he does not plan to appeal the penalty and that Torres will likely begin serving the days on April 20. He will be eligible to return on May 13 at Belmont Park. During that period, Torres will be permitted to ride at Parx on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, something he has been doing the last three months. Torres is 10 for 47 at Parx. :: Take your handicapping to the next level and play with FREE DRF Past Performances - Formulator or Classic.  Torres rode 17 winners from 109 mounts at the Aqueduct winter meet, good enough for eighth in the standings. He won his fifth race from 31 mounts at Aqueduct’s spring meet when he captured Thursday’s opener aboard Wedontbelieveher. * Runninsonofagun, who was held out of last Saturday’s Grade 1 Carter due to a temperature incurred earlier in the week, breezed a half-mile Thursday in 48.29 seconds, the third-fastest of 62 works at the distance over Belmont’s training track. Runninsonofagun, last year’s Grade 3 Bold Ruler winner, will now point to the Grade 3, $175,000 Runhappy Stakes on May 13 at Belmont Park, trainer John Toscano Jr. said. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
