Jac's Fact romps as odds-on choice in George Lewis Memorial

Jac’s Fact justified his status as the 3-5 favorite by rolling to an easy victory in Saturday’s $75,000 George Lewis Memorial for Ohio-accredited horses at ThistleDown.
Ridden by Megan Fadlovich for trainer Ivan Vazquez, the 4-year-old Jac’s Fact ($3.20) sat patiently in fourth, about five lengths off the early pace of 46.08 seconds for a half-mile set by the filly Circle Can Run. Jac’s Fact launched a three-wide bid after six furlongs in 1:13.44, moved to the front turning for home, and was never threatened while finishing 4 1/2 lengths in front while completing 1 1/8 miles in 1:53.64.
It was the fifth win in eight starts this season and the third stakes victory of 2015 for Jac’s Fact, owned by Raymond Donald. His $45,000 share of the purse raised his bankroll to $353,486.
Deniro’s Saint, a 5-year-old mare making just her second start since winning last year’s Lewis, finished second with another mare, Startin Something, checking in third, her 37th top three finish in 50 career starts.
