Jac's Fact captures Catlaunch for fourth stakes win this year

Jac’s Fact strengthened his credentials as 2015’s best Ohio-bred when he collected his fourth stakes win of the ThistleDown season and seventh victory in 11 starts overall this year in Saturday’s $75,000 Catlaunch Stakes.
Sent off as the 3-5 favorite against six other Ohio-accredited horses after being 1-9 odds for much of the betting, the 4-year-old Jac’s Fact ($3.20) sat about two lengths behind as the 3-year-old Blazing Charcoal set tepid fractions of 49.28 seconds and 1:13.88 in the 1 1/16-mile race. Under regular rider Megan Fadlovich, Jac’s Fact was carried extremely wide into the stretch, took command inside the sixteenth pole, and drew clear to win by 1 3/4 lengths. The winning time was 1:47.42.
Blazing Charcoal held second by 1 1/2 lengths over Pyrite Mill, the 2-1 second choice.
Jac’s Fact, owned and bred by Raymond Donald and trained by Ivan Vazquez, has now earned $448,526 by winning 13 of 30 lifetime starts.
