Jacrodra's Devil brings show to New York
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Jacrodra’s Devil has raced at five different venues and six different distances in her fledgling career. Friday, the 3-year-old California-bred filly brings her road show to Aqueduct where she is one of several contenders in a wide-open starter-allowance/optional $50,000 claiming event at six furlongs that serves as the feature on the eight-race card.
Jacrodra’s Devil began her career in Southern California racing twice in claimers at Del Mar, where she was haltered for $32,000 in her second start. After one start at Santa Anita, owners Robert Bone and Edward Rusty Brown opted to ship the filly East to Maryland-based trainer Claudio Gonzalez.
In three starts on the East Coast, Jacrodra’s Devil finished second in a $25,000 claimer at Delaware Park, second in a $25,000 claimer at Laurel Park, and won a maiden special weight on Dec. 18 at Charles Town.
The half-length defeat to Gamestonks on Nov. 26 at Laurel for maiden $25,000 claiming looks a little better after Gamestonks came back to win her next start against winners by 11 1/4 lengths at Parx Racing.
Jacrodra’s Devil, who will be ridden by Dylan Davis, is one of five horses in this field offered for the $50,000 claiming price.
Rooski, also in for the $50,000 tag, was on the right side of a bob when beating Lady Milagro – also in this field – under similar race conditions Dec. 17. Rooski ran down Lady Milagro, who had gotten loose on the lead that day.
Friday, there looks to be plenty of other front-running types, including debut winners Ofalltheginjoints, Tweaqued, and Rosemary Potatoes. Sweet Invasion, a second-out winner, completes the field.
