Trainer James Jackson has proven to be tops in juvenile racing at Pinnacle Race Course this meet, winning 5 races from just 10 starters in 2-year-old races. Saturday he will saddle three of the nine fillies in the 34th running of the Sickle's Image Stakes, named for the 1953 American champion handicap mare who had strong Michigan ties. Post time for the Michigan-bred fixture, which is contested at six furlongs, is 4:46 p.m. Eastern. Jackson sends the 5-2 morning-line favorite Paris Prayer, who rallied six wide to win her debut here on Sept. 4. Leading rider Tommy Molina was on Paris Prayer that day and he gets the call for Saturday's start. Paris Prayer, a Meadow Prayer filly, is owned by Jackson's wife, Laura, and the Red Riding Hood Stable, with its big, bad wolf silks. Elkhorn Oaks Inc. owns Dehere and Now and Harlan Trace, Jackson's other two in the race. Dehere and Now was a troubled fourth behind Paris Prayer in her only start. Augusto Marin gets the return mount. Harlan Trace has hit for the cycle, finishing third, fourth, and second before breaking through here on Aug. 21 with Molina aboard. On that day she earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 49, tops of any Sickle's Image entrant. Octavio Bernal will ride her on Saturday.
