Jackie's Warrior to stand at Spendthrift after racing career

Spendthrift Farm has acquired the future breeding rights to undefeated multiple Grade 1 winner Jackie's Warrior, the early favorite for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
Jackie's Warrior, by Maclean's Music, is trained by Steve Asmussen for Kirk and Judy Robison, and has carried their colors to four victories from as many starts. He has won, in succession, the Grade 2 Saratoga Special by three lengths; the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths in stakes-record time; and the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes by 5 1/2 lengths while geared down. He is the 6-5 favorite on Daily Racing Form's early line made by David Aragona for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile on Nov. 7 at Keeneland.

“Jackie’s Warrior is proving to be one of the fastest 2-year-olds to come around in the last decade or more, and we are extremely excited to follow his racing career and witness the special things he can accomplish before he joins us at Spendthrift,” Ned Toffey, Spendthrift general manager, said in a release. “For such an imposing colt, Jackie’s Warrior is extraordinarily athletic and light on his feet. We could not be more impressed by the way he continues to run good fields off their feet and pour it on late when he lengthens that beautiful stride of his."
Maclean's Music, who stands at Hill 'n' Dale Farm, sired a classic winner from his first crop in Cloud Computing, who took the 2017 Preakness Stakes. Spendthrift introduced Cloud Computing at stud last year, and now continues to invest in the sireline. In addition to Jackie's Warrior, Maclean's Music is expected to have another starter at this year's Breeders' Cup in Complexity, recent winner of the Grade 2 Kelso.
Jackie's Warrior, a $95,000 Keeneland September yearling purchase by the Robisons, is out of the winning A. P. Five Hundred mare Unicorn Girl. The mare, out of stakes winner Horah For Bailey, is a half-sister to stakes winners Bernie the Maestro, Miss Buxley, and Richard the Great, and their great-granddam is German champion Istria. This is the extended family of Canadian champion Honky Tonk Tune; of Grade 1 winner Mayo On the Side, dam of graded stakes winner Midcourt; and of Mexican champion and Triple Crown winner Kukulkan.
