It's My Money will try to wire the boys in Clever Trevor

It’s My Money will be looking for the third stakes win of her young career Friday night, when the 2-year-old filly takes on male rivals in the $100,000 Clever Trevor at Remington Park.
The seven-furlong race is the local prep for the $400,000 Springboard Mile on Dec. 15. The field of five includes a trio of maiden winners from the barn of leading trainer Steve Asmussen – Something Super, Jungle Runner, and Samurai Cause – as well as It’s My Money, a filly who is the field’s most accomplished member.
The filly Dill Or No Dill won the race in 2007. Dill Or No Dill wired her rivals, and It’s My Money also brings good speed into the Clever Trevor.
“I imagine she’ll be on the front end, telling them, ‘Catch me if you can,’” trainer George Bryant said.
It’s My Money won her debut in the $65,000 Pan Zareta division of the Texas Stallion Stakes in June at Lone Star Park. She was then fourth in the track’s $100,000 fillies division of the Texas Thoroughbred Futurity in July before returning to win the $65,000 Darby’s Daughter division of the Texas Stallion Stakes in September at Retama Park. It’s My Money will be making her first start against males Friday.
“She’s really doing good, so we thought we’d give it a try,” Bryant said. “It’s a short field. I think she can hold her own in there. She’s a pretty good filly.
“She’s a mature filly. She’s got a good mind on her. She’s real professional.”
Bryant said the timing of the Clever Trevor also worked well for It’s My Money, who has long been a candidate for the $75,000 Zia Park Princess against her own division Nov. 27.
It’s My Money will be picking up another furlong Friday following a 3 1/4-length win going six furlongs at Retama.
“I think she’ll be okay,” Bryant said. “She finished strong going six furlongs.”
Lane Luzzi has the mount from post 5 for owners Don Leach and Andrew Moran.
Something Super was a maiden special weight winner over seven furlongs in August at Ellis Park. He’s raced once since, finishing fourth in the $75,000 Kip Deville last month at Remington. Something Super is owned by Phoenix Thoroughbred III and will be ridden by David Cabrera.
Richard Eramia has the mount on Samurai Cause, a maiden special weight winner over six furlongs Oct. 9 at Remington. Eramia teamed with Asmussen to win last year’s Clever Trevor and Springboard Mile with Long Range Toddy. Samurai Cause races for Mike McCarty.
Asmussen’s third starter Friday night is Jungle Runner, who won a maiden special weight at a mile in his last start Sept. 29 at Retama. Ramon Vazquez has the mount for Calumet Farm.
The field is completed by the stakes-placed Tale Twister.
