Isotherm comes back in Hall of Fame Stakes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Isotherm, the winner of the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes last year at 2, will make his first start in seven months in Friday’s Grade 2, $200,000 National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Stakes, set for 1 1/16 miles on turf at Saratoga.
Isotherm, a son of the Australian-bred stallion Lonhro, won his maiden at Saratoga last August over Life Imitates Art. He came back to win the Pilgrim at Belmont before finishing 13th of 14 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on dirt.
In his only start this year, Isotherm was beaten a head in the Grade 3 Dania Beach by Life Imitates Art on Jan. 2.
Isotherm was one of nine 3-year-olds entered in the Hall of Fame, seven for the turf and two only for the main track.
The other turf runners include Giant Run, Strike Midnight, Airoforce, Copingaway, and Unbridled Daddy.
Voluntario and Decorated Soldier were entered for the main track only.
◗ One Liner, who won his debut for Todd Pletcher and WinStar/China Horse Club here on July 23, will be sidelined indefinitely due to problems with his shins, according to Elliott Walden, president and chief executive of WinStar. Walden said the horse will be sent to the farm during his time off.
One Liner, a son of Into Mischief, ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.89 and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 71.
