Interstatedaydream has several rich options after flashy allowance win
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Early favorite for Woodbine Oaks?
Interstatedaydream was an outstanding winner of her two-turn debut Sunday at Oaklawn and she’s been nominated to both the Grade 3, $600,000 Fantasy here April 2 and the Grade 1, $600,000 Ashland on April 8 at Keeneland.
“We’ll see how they come up,” said owner Staton Flurry.
Interstatedaydream won Sunday’s conditioned allowance by 8 1/4 lengths and earned a Beyer of 89. The Brad Cox trainee covered the 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.31 under Florent Geroux. The start was Interstatedaydream’s first since finishing second in the Grade 2 Adirondack in August at Saratoga.
“It was the fastest mile and a sixteenth of the meet, faster than the Azeri yesterday,” Flurry said Sunday. “We knew she was going to run good – we didn’t know she was going to run that good. Like Brad said, we were kind of running against the clock today and the clock kind of showed us she could be the real deal.
“Let’s just see how the next few months play out.”
Flurry said one probable objective is the $500,000 Woodbine Oaks on July 24. Interstatedaydream is an Ontario-bred by Classic Empire.
