Instilled Regard's book to include Blue Prize, Concrete Rose

Grade 1 winner Instilled Regard has been retired from racing, and while particulars of his stallion career, such as a farm and stud fee, have yet to be announced, one thing is sure – he will get a solid first book in 2021.
Owner Larry Best, who breeds and races as OXO Equine, announced that multiple Grade 1 winner Blue Prize will be bred to Instilled Regard, by Arch, in 2021. Best purchased Blue Prize for a sale-topping $5 million at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale, days after she won the Breeders’ Cup Distaff. She is carrying her first foal, by Into Mischief.

Best was bullish in the bloodstock market this November, and one of his purchases was Grade 1 winner Concrete Rose, who topped the Keeneland November breeding stock sale at $1.95 million. At the time, Best said that she was a future mate for Instilled Regard.
Instilled Regard was Grade 1-placed as a juvenile. The following year, he won the Grade 3 Lecomte on dirt and finished third in the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby on turf. He won the Grade 2 Fort Lauderdale on turf last season. After opening 2020 by finishing third in the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf, Instilled Regard won the Grade 2 Fort Marcy and then the Grade 1 Manhattan at Belmont in his career finale.
Best will have two horses at stud in 2021, as his Grade 2 winner Instagrand will stand at Taylor Made Farm. Best purchased three mares for a total of $1.85 million at Fasig-Tipton November to support his young stallions, then landed nine mares for of $5,545,000 at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale. His Keeneland purchases were led by Concrete Rose and $1.9 million Indian Miss, the dam of Mitole. Indian Miss is intended for Instagrand.
