Injury will sideline Beyond Brilliant until second half of 2023

ARCADIA, Calif. - The three-time stakes winner Beyond Brilliant has been turned out after he was recently diagnosed with an injury, trainer John Shirreffs said Sunday.
Beyond Brilliant will not race again until the second half of 2023.
“He’ll need a little time,” Shirreffs said. “It’s nothing too serious.”
Shirreffs did not disclose the nature of the injury.
Owned by Lee and Susan Searing’s CRK Stables, Beyond Brilliant has won 5 of 16 starts and earned $776,780. The winner of the Grade 1 Hollywood Derby at Del Mar in November 2021, Beyond Brilliant won two Grade 2 stakes at Santa Anita in 2022 – the Charles Whittingham Stakes at 1 1/4 miles in April and City of Hope Mile in October.
In November, Beyond Brilliant was eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland on Nov. 5, and second by a neck to Hong Kong Harry in the Grade 2 Seabiscuit Handicap at 1 1/16 miles at Del Mar on Nov. 26.
