Inflexibility back up north for Carotene Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Inflexibility will look to double up on the Woodbine turf in Sunday’s $125,000 Carotene Stakes for Ontario-bred 3-year-old fillies over 1 1/8 miles on the E.P. Taylor course.
Based in New York with trainer Chad Brown, Inflexibility shipped to Woodbine for three starts over the summer, finishing third in both the Woodbine Oaks and Queen’s Plate and getting her first stakes victory in the Wonder Where over 1 1/4 miles on turf July 30.
“I got a perfect trip the whole way,” jockey Luis Contreras said following the 1 3/4-length victory over Enstone in the Wonder Where. “She was pulling and pulling. She was really strong the whole way. From the quarter pole to the wire, I had to ride her hard because I thought I wasn’t going to go past [Enstone]. The last sixteenth of a mile, she was more confident on the lead.”
Contreras retains the mount.
Following the Wonder Where, Inflexibility returned to New York and finished a close fourth in the Grade 2 Sands Point over 1 1/8 miles on turf at Belmont Park in her most recent start Sept. 16.

Turf-endurance finale
The final leg of the Woodbine turf-endurance series will be contested Sunday over 2 1/4 miles. Tesseron has enough points to wrap up the title regardless of his finish position Sunday but should be considered a major player while coming off wins in the previous two races in the series.
Sine Metu has finished second to Tesseron in back-to-back starts and will be looking to turn the tables on his rival. Major Production could be primed for an upset, having run his last two starts beyond two miles on Tapeta at Presque Isle Downs.
