Infinite Patience romps in Sadie Diamond Futurity

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Infinite Patience remained undefeated with an easy win over Fully Lent in the $100,000 Sadie Diamond Futurity at Hastings. She paid $2.10 across the board for her six-length romp in the 6 1/2-furlong dash for 2-year-old fillies.
With Antonio Reyes aboard, Infinite Patience broke sharply and was inside of Everything’s Quiet, who held a half-length advantage while posting a rapid quarter-mile time of 21.91 seconds. Infinite Patience took over the lead approaching the quarter pole before winning with complete authority. Fully Lent came from a stalking position to finish 5 1/4 lengths clear of Sophie Soleil, who was third after trailing the field early.
The final time was 1:17.30.
Infinite Patience, a British Columbia-bred daughter of Sungold, is trained by Barbara Heads. It was the first time Infinite Patience had been behind a horse in four starts.
“When I saw the quarter-mile time I was a bit concerned, especially since she was inside the other horse,” said Heads. “Then I remembered she went that fast when she won the Debutante.”
Infinite Patience won the Debutante by 11 1/4 lengths. Her combined winning margin in four races is 31 1/4 lengths.
Heads said Infinite Patience would be pointed to the $75,000 Fantasy on Oct. 13 where she will be stretching out to a middle distance for the first time in the 1 1/16-mile race.
She was bred by William DeCoursey, who owns her along with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
