Infinite Patience romps at 1-20 in CTHS Sales Stakes

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Infinite Patience rewarded her legion of backers with a short price for her dominating 4 3/4-length win over Fully Lent in the fillies division of the CTHS Sales Stakes for 2-year-olds at Hastings Friday evening.
Ridden by Antonio Reyes, Infinite Patience, who paid the minimum $2.10 to win, broke sharply in the 6 1/2-furlong dash. She breezed through interior fractions of 23.04 and 47.04 seconds, and was never really asked while posting a final time of 1:18.05.
Trained by Barbara Heads, the daughter of Sungold remained undefeated in three starts.
She was bred in British Columbia by William DeCoursey, who owns her along with R. N. H. Stable.
Not as impressive was Above the Moon, who paid $29.70 for his 2 1/2-length victory over heavily favored Capilano Canyon in the colts and geldings division.
With Enrique Gonzalez riding, Above the Moon was under pressure from Desert Hills while setting interior fractions of 22.99 and 47.15 seconds in the 6 1/2-furlong sprint. He opened up a clear lead on the stretch turn and easily held off Capilano Canyon, who broke on top but was eased into a stalking position by Reyes. At Attention got off to a poor start before rallying to finish third.
The final time was 1:18.78.
Trained by Phil Hall, Above the Moon is owned by Peter Redekop, who bred the son of Harbor the Gold.
