Michael Stidham is no stranger to training a good Arkansas-bred, having had the multiple stakes winner Comedero. He’s back with another promising runner from the same state for Saturday night’s $50,000 Razorback Futurity, an Arkansas-bred race being run at Remington Park for the first time.

Stidham sends out the probable odds-on favorite in Indygo Bo. Indygo Bo will meet five others in the Razorback, a six-furlong race that also drew Keeneland maiden winner All Aboard.

Auntcris’sshoes, a maiden special weight winner at Louisiana Downs, takes on the promising maidens Shadynstella and Patchofbadweather in the $50,000 Lady Razorback, also at six furlongs.

The Razorback Futurity and the Lady Razorback Futurity had been run at Louisiana Downs for the past two decades.

Razorback Futurity

Key contenders

Indygo Bo (Beyers: 64-85)

◗ He showed talent in his debut, when he closed from eight lengths back to win a maiden special weight sprint at Arlington Park on Aug. 31. He earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 85, which is the best career number in the Razorback.

◗ Indygo Bo will be adding blinkers for the Razorback after a sixth-place finish in a first-level allowance at Keeneland on Oct. 10. He raced farther off the pace than he had in his debut.

◗ He has since worked a half-mile in 47.80 seconds at Keeneland.

◗ There does not appear to be an abundance of speed in the Razorback Futurity. Considering that Indygo Bo exits a fast-paced race, posted a quick work, adds blinkers, and moves to the statebred ranks, he could be prominent early Saturday.

◗ Cliff Berry has the mount from post 3 for owner Mark Breen.

All Aboard (Beyer: 50)

◗ He made his debut in a $50,000 maiden-claiming sprint at Keeneland on Oct. 16 and rallied from last for a half-length win at 23-1.

◗ All Aboard encountered some trouble at the start in his debut, and with a cleaner trip, he could be closer to the pace for Southern Springs Stable and trainer Ron Moquett.

◗ Ricardo Santana Jr., riding the full weekend at Remington, has the mount from post 6.
