Indiana Grand reverses stable eviction order

Indiana Grand, which announced last week it was postponing its 2020 race meet due to the coronavirus pandemic, no longer is requiring horses already stabled on its grounds to vacate the track.

The Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association posted a thread of Tweets on Sunday announcing the change in policy. Between 100 and 150 horses are stabled at Indiana Grand. The horses can continue training as horsemen await the 2020 racing season, which had been scheduled to begin April 14. Training could be halted, and horsemen again asked to leave, the Indiana HBPA Tweeted, if a local, state, or federal government law requires it.
