Dandelionmoonshine can make it two in a row locally with a win against 10 other Indiana-bred and -sired fillies and mares Friday evening in the $84,000 Shelby County at Indiana Downs. Trained by Tim Heniser, the 5-year-old Dandelionmoonshine will be making her third start of the year. She began the season by finishing third in a third-level allowance going 5 1/2 furlongs against statebreds. In her last out May 1, Dandelionmoonshine won a statebred third-level allowance by two lengths. Dandelionmoonshine earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 58, the highest last-race figure earned by any starter in Friday’s race. Demido won the 2010 running of the six-furlong Shelby County but has won only one race since. In her only out this year, she failed to fire in an open allowance race locally and finished last in a field of 12. Trainer Joe Davis wins with 29 percent of his starters second race off a layoff. Ms Cat Princess finished second in the Shelby County last season when sent off as the even-money favorite. She has yet to start this year for her new trainer, David Paulus.
