Perfectly Candid returns to the Indiana-bred ranks and faces those of her own age when she takes on nine other 3-year-old Indiana-bred fillies in the $84,000 Ellen's Lucky Star at Indiana Downs on Friday evening.\r\nTrained by Bob Gorham, Perfectly Candid was a perfect 4 for 4 last season in Indiana, including stakes victories in the City of Anderson and Miss Indiana. All four victories came at Hoosier Park. A Pleasantly Perfect filly, Perfectly Candid closed out her 2010 campaign with a seventh-place finish in the Grade 3 Delta Princess at Delta Downs on Nov. 20. This will be the third outing of the year for Perfectly Perfect. She had a dismal local finish April 19 against open older fillies and mares over a sloppy track in her first out of this season. She then finished fifth in the $100,000 Inaugural at Presque Isle Downs on May 17 in her last out. Perfectly Perfect is part of a two-horse Gorham entry, along with My Bellamy, who is cross entered in The Snack to be run Saturday. Leandro Goncalves will ride Perfectly Candid.\r\nShould Perfectly Candid fail to return to her old form in the six-furlong Ellen's Lucky Star, What About Ruby could surprise at long odds. Listed at 20-1 on the morning line, What About Ruby won 2 of 3 last season, including the $87,000 Hillsdale at Hoosier Park. A daughter of Silver Deputy, she has had a nice string of works at Churchill Downs for trainer Merrill Scherer and will have Lasix for the first time. BJ Hernandez will ride.
