Two-time champion Indian Blessing produced her first foal, a Zensational colt, at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farms in Kentucky on Sunday, Jan. 30. Indian Blessing, a 6-year-old by Indian Charlie, was champion juvenile filly in 2007 and champion sprint female in 2008. She earned more than $2.9 million and won five Grade 1 races: the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and Frizette in 2007 and the Test, La Brea, and Prioress in 2008. Zensational, a three-time Grade 1 winner by Unbridled’s Song, stands at Hill ’n’ Dale for $22,500 this year. Indian Blessing’s foal, a dark bay or brown colt, was one of a spate of well-connected foals born at the Lexington, Ky., nursery in the last 10 days. A week before Indian Blessing foaled, another Grade 1 winner, Tough Tiz’s Sis, produced a colt by two-time Breeders’ Cup Sprint winner and 2007 champion male sprinter Midnight Lute. And on Jan. 25, Canada’s 2009 champion older mare, Serenading, had a Street Cry colt.
