Inagoodway trying to win More Than Even Stakes a third time

Inagoodway might encounter a demanding pace scenario when she attempts to win the $55,000 More Than Even Stakes for the third time in her career Monday at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla.
The front-runner captured the mile and a sixteenth race for Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares in both 2017 and 2018.
Inagoodway is part of a competitive field of 11 that includes fellow stakes winners Country Daisy, Spring Steen, She’s Shiney, Lady Orchid, Dicey, and She’s All Wolfe.
“It looks like a few are stretching out in the race,” said Karl Broberg, who trains Inagoodway. “I don’t know if I’m going to get the right setup I was hoping for. She’s at her best when she’s loose on the lead.”
Inagoodway registered both of her More Than Even wins on the front end, and used the same tactics to win her second $145,000 Oklahoma Classics Distaff last October at Remington Park.

Country Daisy is stretching out around two turns after winning the $55,000 Miranda Diane over six furlongs April 27 at Will Rogers. Other sprint-to-route prospects in the field Monday include Spring Steen, who set the pace in the Miranda Diane and finished second by a half-length, and Okie Queen, a speed horse who starts from post 11.
Inagoodway was a $17,500 claim by GK Racing last August at Remington Park. She boasts a 12-for-35 career record and is 6 for 12 at Will Rogers.
“She’s a filly that likes to win, has back class,” Broberg said. “There’s not a lot of opportunities for the Oklahoma-bred fillies and mares going long on the dirt. We have been very patient and gearing for this spot for quite a while now.”
Inagoodway is moving back into the Oklahoma-bred ranks after finishing third in a no-conditions allowance at a mile April 27 at Will Rogers. The last time she ran with statebreds she captured the Oklahoma Classics Distaff.
David Cabrera has the mount on Inagoodway from post 7.
Spring Steen will break from post 5. She is moving back to two turns for the first time since last year’s More Than Even, when she finished second by a neck. Inagoodway did not run in last year’s renewal. Spring Steen is making the third start of her form cycle, just as she did for the More Than Even in 2019.
Ty Kennedy has the mount for Michael Grossman and trainer Francisco Bravo.
The More Than Even is named for the mare who earned $563,087 while winning eight stakes across Oklahoma.
