Inagoodway scores repeat in More Than Even Stakes
Inagoodway won the $55,000 More Than Even Stakes at Will Rogers Downs for the second year in a row on Monday, when she led throughout for a length victory over Fiddlers Tsunami. It was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third to Diva’s Rule.
The More Than Even was a one-mile and 70-yard race restricted to fillies and mares bred in Oklahoma.
Roger Engel trains Inagoodway and he also trained More Than Even, an eight-time stakes winner who earned $563,087 for her breeder and owner, Doyle Williams.
Inagoodway ($6.80) set fractions of 24.31 seconds for the opening quarter, 48.67 for the half-mile and 1:12.78 for six furlongs before covering the distance on a fast track in 1:42.81. Bryan McNeil was aboard for the ownership of Steve Dupy, Kent Blair, and breeder Mike Castor.
Inagoodway has now won 8 of 19 starts and earned $274,621. She is a daughter of Save Big Money.
Earlier on the card, Katabatic ($7.40) was a 2 3/4-length winner of the $55,000 Cinema Handicap for 3-year-old fillies bred in Oklahoma. The race’s pacesetter, Annieruok, veered, fell over the inside rail, and later walked off, according to the Equibase chart of the race. Her rider, Floyd Wethey Jr., returned to win the next race at Will Rogers.
