DEL MAR, Calif. – Improbable, winner of the Shared Belief Stakes on Sunday, will have the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile at Santa Anita on Nov. 2 as his major year-end goal, but how he gets there is yet to be determined, trainer Bob Baffert said. “We’ll wait a week and then decide what to do,” said Baffert, who said he would discuss options with Elliott Walden, the president and chief executive of co-owner WinStar Farm. Improbable got a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 104 in the Shared Belief, which came in his first start since the Preakness and marked his first victory of the year in five starts. Earlier this year, he was second to Omaha Beach in the Arkansas Derby, fourth in the Kentucky Derby, and sixth in the Preakness, going off as the favorite in the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Improbable’s biggest win came in last year’s Grade 1 Los Alamitos Futurity, which concluded a perfect 3-for-3 campaign as a 2-year-old.
