Immersive looks to turn tables on Take Charge Milady

Immersive, who started her championship 2-year-old campaign at Saratoga last summer, will look to bounce back from her neck defeat to Take Charge Milady in the Monomoy Girl Stakes when the two meet again in Saturday’s Grade 1, $500,000 Coaching Club American Oaks for 3-year-old fillies.
Immersive, who last year won a maiden race and the Spinaway here, as well as the Alcibiades and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, was sidelined due to bone bruising this winter. She didn’t make her 3-year-old debut until the June 14 Monomoy Girl at Churchill, where she was beaten a neck in the four-horse field.
That race was at 1 1/16 miles. The CCA Oaks is run at 1 1/8 miles. Immersive, who worked a sharp five furlongs in 59.20 seconds Saturday morning at Churchill, breaks from the rail under Manny Franco.
In addition to Take Charge Milady, Immersive will face La Cara, who in April won the Grade 1 Ashland at Keeneland and last month the Grade 1 Acorn here. Also entered were Scottish Lassie, winner of last year’s Grade 1 Frizette, and Sweet Seraphine and Dry Power, separated by a head in the Wilton Stakes last month at Aqueduct.
