Coady Media Imagine the Moon covered six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.95.

Imagine the Moon won the $100,000 Shelby County Handicap for the second year in a row on Wednesday at Horseshoe Indianapolis, where she came up the rail for a two-length victory over The Kid Pataky. It was another 4 1/2 lengths back in third to Werk It Wendy.

The race was one of two Indiana-sired stakes on the card. Hawkeye ($15) led throughout to win the $100,000 William Henry Harrison Handicap.

Imagine the Moon ($4) was content to sit just off the pace set by The Kid Pataky, who led through fractions of 22.06 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 44.86 for the half.

Imagine the Moon found room along the inside into the stretch and gradually moved to the lead as the hole began tightening up. Imagine the Moon held her ground in a gutsy effort and went on to cover six furlongs on a fast track in 1:09.95. Rodney Prescott was aboard the winner for trainer Tony Duran.

Jose Gutierrez was aboard for trainer John Haran, who also owns the son of Storm’s Eye.

Hawkeye won by 3 1/4 lengths over stablemate C.J’s Storm. It was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third to Oil Man.

* Instant Replay ($4.20) won an allowance earlier on the card in his first start since taking last year's Super Derby at Louisiana Downs.
